Double Decker review (#1)

Hey! I'm Oli and Welcome to Chocolate Bar Reviewed... let's be honest, we all like a good chocolate bar (or two) every now and then (who doesn't?) and I thought to myself - why not share my opinion with all you internet folk. You've probably eaten most of them before, loved them, hated them, whatever your opinion I'm here to share mine, hear yours and have a bit of fun while I do it. So, without further ado lets kick things off with the Double Decker.

An unusual one to start off with for me as (shock horror) I'd never had a Double Decker before this very day but I'd heard good things. As you can see for yourselves it's made by Cadbury and it comes in quite a distinctive purple and orange wrapper.

First bite was a strange one... it wasn't rock hard but it was pretty damn close. Not sure if the vending machine at work was operating at Antarctic like temperatures but this thing was no Mars bar to eat!

Inside it's made up of two distinct layers (hence the name) - the bottom one being a chocolatey Rice Krispie type substance and the top being a whipped texture. Cadbury describe it as 'nougat' - I wouldn't go that far, it had a similar taste to a Milky Way except it was a lot firmer. The bar is then wrapped in milk chocolate. Not Dairy Milk chocolate, probably a cheaper, sweeter alternative though it wasn't overly sweet.

Overall the Double Decker wasn't bad. Best chocolate bar ever? Nah. That said, for many people though this is one of their favourites! Perhaps it was due to it being a bit overly firm but it gets a decidedly average...

5/10

Thanks for reading everyone, and more reviews to come..!
